Day 1: Fly to Cairo and Explore Giza
In the morning, a private, air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in El Gouna. We will take you to Hurghada airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, an Egyptologist guide will meet you and accompany you to discover the sites.
Giza Pyramids Complex
This complex includes three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple. The complex dates back to the 4th dynasty, around 2400 B.C.
The Great Pyramid
King Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and largest of the three Giza pyramids. It is the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World. It is 147 meters tall. Ancient Egyptians used 2,300,000 stones to build it, and it took them twenty years to construct.
The Great Sphinx
King Chephren built this statue, the largest in the world. It is 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters tall. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture.
The Valley Temple
Ancient Egyptians used this granite mortuary temple for the mummification process. It is the only one remaining on the Giza plateau. Afterward, you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Egypt’s oldest pyramid.
Saqqara Step Pyramid
Considered the earliest large-scale cut stone construction, this pyramid dates back to the reign of King Djoser in the 27th century B.C. It consists of six steps and is 62 meters high. Finally, we will transfer you to a 5-star hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Discover Cairo’s Highlights
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Your private tour guide will then take you to some of Cairo’s top tourist attractions, starting with:
The Egyptian Museum
The museum displays a rare collection spanning 5,000 years of art, with over 250,000 genuine artifacts. This includes an exhibit dedicated to King Tutankhamun’s treasure, gold, and jewelry, which remained enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Cairo. You will then continue your tour by visiting:
Salah El Din Citadel
This magnificent fortress served as Egypt’s seat of government until the 1860s. Its construction began in 1176 and was completed in 1182 during Salah ad-Din’s reign.
Next, you will tour:
Mohamed Ali Mosque
Built between 1830 and 1848, the mosque is also known as “The Alabaster Mosque” because its walls are made of pure alabaster. It is a replica of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC)
The NMEC offers a journey to explore the immortal essence of Egypt. It features captivating monuments and artifacts that showcase the country’s history and culture from pre-historical, Ancient Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and modern times.
Finally, you will visit:
Khan El Khalili Bazaar
No visit to Cairo is complete without a stop at this famous bazaar, the oldest in the Middle East. Builders constructed it in 970 A.D., the same year they founded Cairo.
After the tour, we will transfer you to Cairo airport for your flight back to Hurghada. A representative will then transfer you to your hotel, concluding your trip.
