Tour Highlights: A Morning of Wonders

This tour is designed to maximize your time. We focus on the most impressive locations to ensure you capture the perfect photos and learn the most fascinating stories.

1. The Great Pyramids of Giza

First, you will explore the three main pyramids of the Fourth Dynasty. You will stand at the base of the Great Pyramid of King Khufu (Cheops). Furthermore, you will see the Pyramid of Khafre (Chephren) and the Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycarinus). Your guide will explain how ancient builders moved 2.5-ton blocks to reach heights of 147 meters.

2. An Authentic Camel Ride Experience

Next, we take you on a camel ride around the Pyramid of Menkaure. This is not just a ride; it is a photo opportunity. From this specific vantage point, you can capture all nine pyramids of Giza in one single landscape photo. This panoramic view is the “hidden gem” of the Giza Plateau.

3. The Great Sphinx & Valley Temple

Finally, you will visit the Great Sphinx. This massive statue features the head of a human and the body of a lion. Besides it, you will explore the Valley Temple, also known as the Mummification Temple. This is the sacred site where priests prepared the body of King Khafre for his “deep sleep” in the afterlife.

Understanding the Giza Complex

To truly appreciate these structures, it helps to understand their history and scale.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu

Built around 2570 BCE, the Great Pyramid is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It contains approximately 2.3 million limestone blocks. Consequently, it took an estimated 100,000 workers over 20 years to complete this masterpiece of engineering.

The Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure

The Pyramid of Khafre stands southwest of the Great Pyramid. Although it is slightly smaller, it appears taller because it sits on higher ground. Finally, the Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three. It stands 62 meters high and features a unique granite casing at its base.

The Mystery of the Sphinx

The Great Sphinx stands 20 meters tall and gazes toward the rising sun. While its exact purpose remains a mystery, many believe it represents King Khafre guarding his funeral complex. In the evening, the area also features a famous Sound and Light Show that narrates the history of the site.
