The Great Pyramid

This is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau. It belongs to King Khufu. It is the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. The Great Pyramid is 147 meters tall. Its construction required 2,300,000 stones and took twenty years to build.

This is the largest statue in the world. The Sphinx  measures 73 meters long, 19 meters wide, and 20 meters high. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture.

The Valley Temple

This was the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasty. It houses tombs, including those of Ramses II and Tutankhamun. The tombs were well-stocked with goods for the afterlife. The decoration inside most tombs remains well-preserved.

Hatshepsut Temple

This is one of the most beautiful and best-preserved temples in Ancient Egypt. Its design is on three levels. Two wide ramps in a central position join the levels.

Colossi of Memnon

These are two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III. They are the only remains of a complete mortuary temple. The statues were made from quartzite sandstone blocks from Cairo. They were moved 700 km to Luxor.
