Day 01: Pyramids Tour
To begin with, the Egypt Fun Tour Guide Representative will pick you up from Alexandria Port (by the cruise exit door). Then, we will transfer you by our air-conditioned bus to Cairo (3 hours), with a stop if needed to have a rest or a drink.
Next, start your tour with a visit to the Step Pyramids of King Djoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure. A 3rd Dynasty pyramid (around 2630 BC) by King Djoser, Kagemni’s tomb. Following this, we transfer you to Memphis, the ancient capital city of Egypt by King Menes.
Moreover, it was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3000 years, the first capital of Egypt, where you can see the colossus of Ramses II.Afterward, we continue to the Giza Pyramids to explore the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus.
Additionally, proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, with the head of a pharaoh and a lion’s body, which dates back to the time of Chephren. Furthermore, the tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple, which belongs to King Chephren, along with a shopping tour at the famous bazaars and papyrus institutes in Giza.
As an option, you may enjoy the spectacular Sound and Light Show at Giza Pyramids or have dinner on a Nile cruise. Lunch is also included during the tour. Finally, you will overnight in Cairo.
Day 02: Egyptian Museum/Saladin Citadel
After breakfast at your hotel, start an excursion to the Egyptian Museum, which features artifacts from the Pharaoh’s period. Notably, the museum displays a rare collection of 5000 years of art, considered the largest and most precious collection of Egyptian artifacts in the world.
Over 220,000 genuine artifacts are presented, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun, gold, and jewelry enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before its discovery in 1922, when his tomb was excavated. After your visit, have lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch, proceed to Saladin Citadel and the alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849), who ruled Egypt from 1805 to 1848 A.D.
Finally, travel by our air-conditioned modern coach back to Alexandria and return to your cruise ship for the final departure.
