Day 2: Giza Pyramids, Memphis, and Saqqara Tour
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Cairo and Luxor. You will visit the eternal charms of this sacred land, starting with:
Giza Pyramids Complex:
This complex showcases the glory of ancient Egyptian civilization. It has stood in the enigmatic western desert for almost 4000 years, making it one of history’s oldest monuments. The entire complex consists of three main pyramids, each dedicated to a different pharaoh: Khafre, Khufu, and Menkaure. You will also see six smaller pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple, which preserved the kings’ and queens’ legacies for generations.
- The Great Pyramid: The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It stands as one of the oldest and largest constructions in the world. Built to a height of 147 meters (481 feet) by King Khufu’s vizier Hemiunu, it remained the tallest structure for 3800 years until the Lincoln Cathedral was completed in 1311. This pyramid dates back to 2580 BC, making it about 4500 years old.
- The Great Sphinx of Giza: The Great Sphinx is the world’s largest and oldest statue, featuring the body of a lion and the head of a man, likely representing King Khafre. It symbolizes power and knowledge. Known as “Hor-em-Akhet” (Horus of the Horizon) and “Abu Al-Hawl” (The Father of Terror), it was carved from a single limestone rock and measures 73 meters (240 feet) long and 19 meters (66 feet) wide.
- The Valley Temple: This ancient temple, built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC), served as the site of the mummification process. It is one of the best-preserved temples of ancient Egyptian civilization, constructed entirely of limestone and granite, housing remarkable Chephren diorite figures.
After your visit, enjoy lunch at a local Cairo restaurant. Then continue to:
In 2700 BC, Imhotep built the funeral complex of King Djoser. The Saqqara Step Pyramid was the first pyramid ever constructed in Egypt. It marks the beginning of the pyramid-building era. Designed by Pharaoh Djoser’s vizier, the renowned Imhotep, this pyramid features a unique design with six steps, rising to 62 meters tall. It is surrounded by a 10.5-meter-high wall with 14 entrances and includes stunning ornamentation and ceremonial buildings that remain in excellent condition.
Afterward, visit Egypt’s first capital in the ancient world:
Memphis City:
Memphis is Egypt’s first recognized capital, established by King Menes to unite the two lands. It is known as the Land of Endurance and Beauty, serving as the hub of governance, commerce, art, and religion under the protection of Ptah, the Patron of Craftsmen. The city boasts numerous remains dating back over 4000 years, including large temples dedicated to gods and goddesses like Aton and Hathor.
Finally, we will return you to your Cairo hotel for the night.

Day 3: Sightseeing Tour of Old Cairo—Flight to Luxor
After breakfast, dive into the heart of “The City of Minarets” with your tour guide. You will experience all of Cairo’s major sites, beginning with:
The Egyptian Museum:
This museum is one of the world’s largest. It houses relics and monuments dating back over 4000 years, spanning all historical periods from ancient Egypt to Greek, Coptic, and Islamic civilizations. On its two levels, you will find over 150,000 unique artifacts, including sculptures, jewelry, funerary relics such as King Tutankhamun’s treasures, and several exhibited mummies.
Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local Cairo restaurant before visiting:
Known as the Cairo Citadel, this historic site has witnessed the city’s many events. Completed in 1182 AD by the renowned conqueror Salah El-Din, it offers a panoramic view of Cairo. This citadel served as a formidable fortress against the Crusaders and Napoleon’s French invasion. Later, it became the government’s headquarters for over 700 years until the late 19th century.
Mohamed Ali Mosque:
This majestic mosque is often called “The Alabaster Mosque” due to its extensive use of marble. Built between 1830 and 1848 AD, it was modeled after Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, symbolizing independence from the Ottoman Empire. The mosque features Ottoman-style architecture influenced by French rococo, with captivating finishes in crimson, green, and gold, along with a magnificent dome.
This museum serves as a mystical link between predynastic Egypt and modern times. The NMEC employs sophisticated museological techniques to present Egypt’s rich art, history, and culture, spanning over 4000 years. Finally, visit:
Bazaar of Khan El Khalili:
Known as the Middle East’s golden brick road, Khan El Khalili is the region’s oldest market, dating back to 970 AD. Today, the street bustles with shops and cafes that have stood for centuries. The beautiful Islamic architecture and decorations along the boulevard are both enthralling and well-preserved.

On Day Four, wake up to a delicious breakfast at your hotel. After checking out, meet your private tour guide to continue the second half of your 5-day Cairo & Luxor tour package. Your visits will include:
The Kings’ Valley:
This valley has served as a gateway to the afterlife for Egypt’s greatest kings and queens (1570-1070 BC). It is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The valley contains 63 tombs with beautiful items, decorations, and the remains of pharaohs like Ramses I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, and the legendary boy-king Tutankhamun.
Temple of Hatshepsut:
This temple epitomizes beauty and showcases the magnificence of the New Kingdom (1550-1070 BC). Designed by Senenmut, Hatshepsut’s chancellor, it was built in 1479 BC and took 15 years to complete. The temple’s design is based on Classical Architecture, and its stunning decorations and sculptures are among the finest in Egypt.
These colossi are said to be the guardians of Luxor’s ancient city. Each statue, made of quartzite sandstone, stands 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weighs 720 tons. They were built in honor of Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC). A significant earthquake in 27 BC damaged the colossi, but they were reconstructed around 199 AD. The sculptures were famous during the Greco-Roman era due to the legend of The Vocal Memnon, who was said to sing at dawn.
Enjoy lunch on an island during a relaxing Nile cruise. Afterward, visit:
Karnak Temple:
This archaeological site is one of the world’s largest open-air museums. Formerly known as Ipet-isu (The Most Selected of Places), Karnak Temple is the biggest religious structure in history, dating back over 4000 years. It was the center of ancient Egyptian religious devotion, dedicated to the Theban triad: Deity Amun, his wife Goddess Mut, and their son, the moon god Khnsou, along with other gods like Osiris, Montu, Ptah, and Isis.
