Egypt is a country that has long been a popular destination for travelers from around the world. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and unique culture, there’s no shortage of things to see and do in Egypt.

Mid-range hotels typically cost between $40-$80 per night, while luxury hotels and resorts can cost upwards of $200 per night.

Food and Drink

Egypt is a food lover’s paradise, with a variety of delicious dishes to try. Local street food is a popular budget-friendly option, with dishes like Kushari (a mix of rice, lentils, and pasta) and Taameya (Egyptian falafel) costing just a few dollars. Sit-down restaurants are more expensive, with meals costing around $10-$15 per person. Alcohol is available but can be expensive, with a local beer costing around $3.

Getting around Egypt is relatively affordable, with taxis and buses being the most common means of transportation. Taxis are usually metered, with short rides costing around $2. Trains are also available, with journeys between Cairo and Luxor costing around $12.

Sightseeing and Attractions

There are many amazing sights to see in Egypt, from the ancient pyramids and temples to the bustling markets and museums. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is another popular attraction, with admission costing around $15 per person.

Overall, Egypt is a relatively affordable destination, with a budget of $50-$70 per day being sufficient for most travelers. Of course, this can vary depending on your travel style and choice of accommodation and activities. By doing your research and planning ahead, you can ensure that your Egypt travel expenses are within your budget, allowing you to make the most of this fascinating country.

Luxury Egypt Travel Expenses

Luxury Egypt travel expenses can vary greatly depending on the type of experience you’re looking for and the level of luxury you desire. As with any luxury travel experience, the cost of luxury travel to Egypt will generally be higher than budget travel alternatives.

Luxury Egypt travel typically includes private tours, stays at 5-star hotels and resorts, private transfers, and high-end dining experiences. A 12-day private tailor-made tour can cost around $4,790 per person, while a luxury vacation package can cost upwards of $8,000 or more per person. This can include accommodations at some of the best luxury hotels in Egypt, such as the Four Seasons in Cairo or the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh in Hurghada.

High-end dining options abound in Egypt, with gourmet restaurants featuring local and international cuisine. A high-end meal at a top restaurant can cost between $50 and $100 per person, or more, plus drinks and tips.

Luxury travel packages in Egypt may also include a private guide or personal concierge to ensure that all of your needs are met during your trip. This can include arranging private access to top sights and attractions, as well as additional perks such as spa treatments and private excursions.

Overall, luxury travel in Egypt can be quite costly, but for those who have the budget, the experience can be truly unforgettable. From staying at luxurious hotels to indulging in high-end dining experiences and enjoying private tours, luxury travelers can experience the best that Egypt has to offer with one-of-a-kind experiences that are tailored to their needs and preferences.

Egypt Travel Expenses for a one-week trip

The cost of a one-week trip to Egypt can vary greatly depending on your travel style and preferences. However, on average, a one-week trip to Egypt can cost anywhere from $800 to $2,000 per person. Some factors that can impact the cost of a one-week trip to Egypt include transportation, accommodations, meals, and sightseeing activities.

Budget-friendly options are available for those looking to visit Egypt on a tight budget, with accommodations like hostels and guesthouses available for as low as $10 per night and street food options costing just a few dollars per meal. However, those looking for a more luxurious experience with private tours, high-end dining, and 5-star accommodations can expect to pay more, with luxury tour packages costing upwards of $8,000 or more per person.

Overall, the cost of a one-week trip to Egypt will depend on your preferences, lifestyle, and travel style. To get a more accurate estimate of expenses, it’s best to do research on the specific activities, accommodations, and tours that interest you and compare prices and options.

Amazing tour to the pyramids of Sakkara and Dahshur

January 1, 2025

This week we had a great tour with Mohamed to the pyramids of Sakkara and Dahshur as well as Memphis. He tailored the tour to our preferences, took a lot of time with us and gave us detailed background information on everything. It was also great that he never tired of taking the time to answer our many questions.

You can definitely tell that he has studied Egyptology as he has a very deep understanding of the subject and can explain everything well. He also speaks perfect English and is really good driver.

We would definitely book a tour with him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to anyone. 🙂

Amazing Egypt Fun Tours

Highly Recommend Egypt Fun Tours!

Several weeks ago, I reached out to Egypt Fun Tours regarding a 9-hour layover in Cairo. From the very beginning, Hani Ahmed was responsive and professional, quickly providing a well-organized itinerary tailored to our limited time. The itinerary included a visit to the pyramids, other historical sites, a delicious dinner, and even a quick stop for souvenir shopping.

Upon arrival, Gilman efficiently assisted us in obtaining our day tourist visas (note: $25 per person in cash). She then introduced us to our guide, Mydo, who was absolutely phenomenal! Mydo’s knowledge, friendly demeanor, and ability to adjust the tour to our pace made the experience unforgettable.

We returned to the airport with plenty of time to relax before our flight. The entire experience was smooth, stress-free, and incredibly memorable. Egypt Fun Tours offers reasonable prices for a private, customized experience that truly exceeds expectations. Thank you, Egypt Fun Tours! We will definitely use your services again in the future.

Alexandria! Wow!

November 7, 2024

Muhammad is the best! He showed me a world I never thought possible! The tombs in Alexandria by far was my favorite! I never knew there was a place on earth that contained both Greek and Egyptian carvings in the same tombs! The history and culture of Egypt is so fascinating! I highly recommend booking with Muhammad!

AMAZING TOUR, SOLO TRAVELER.

October 12, 2024

I am a California woman who traveled to Egypt alone and thanks to Egypt Fun Tours I had a great time. Hani, Mohammed, Kamal and David (my driver) were very professional and very knowledgeable, I appreciate how respectful they were and how protective they were with me.

They show me everything I wanted to see in Cairo and nearby places like Saqqara, Memphis, etc. Thanks to them I had a great time in Egypt, they were so so helpful than on my second day they helped me to move from my hotel in Giza to the Steigenberger hotel in downtown Cairo.

The tour price is super good includes a guide (expert in the field) a driver, lunch and drinks, they took me to amazing places for lunch, the food was super super delicious, for a foodie like me that was a highlight. We went out fo the tourist traps and I got to see the Cairo that if you are in a bus tour you will never get to see.

This tour is personalized for each person depending of what you want to see and do, I absolutely love it.

I used WhatsApp to communicate with Hani and arranged all my tours, Hani was super super nice since the moment I contacted him and explained him what I wanted to do and see.

Hani and his group mesmerized me with the tours they put together, this is a memory I will keep for lifetime.

I had only good things to say about them and I highly recommend them.

I did visit the pyramids in Giza, downtown Cairo, new Cairo, several museums, Coptic Cairo and Muslim Cairo with them and I learned a lot from them, I felt like they were family to me and it was EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.

If I go back to Egypt I will hire them again without hesitation.

David I take my hat off for you because I have NO IDEA how you can drive in crazy Cairo, thanks to all of you for making this lady’s dream a reality.
