Day 1: Explore Luxor’s Treasures

An “Egypt Fun Tours” representative will pick you up from your cruise ship at Alexandria Port. They will take you to Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor. In Luxor, your tour guide and a private air-conditioned car will meet you. You will then begin your tour.

Valley of the Kings

You’ll visit the Valley of the Kings, an ancient Egyptian tomb. It preserves the timeless legacy of the New Kingdom pharaohs (1570–1050 BC). The valley holds 63 royal tombs. These include those of famous kings like Ramses II, Hatshepsut, Seti I, and Tutankhamun. Golden jewels and beautiful decor fill these tombs.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Next, see the Temple of Hatshepsut. Builders constructed this holy temple to honor Queen Hatshepsut (1507-1458 BC). She was the priestess wife of the sun god Amun. The temple now illuminates traditional Egyptian architectural style.

Colossi of Memnon

Observe the eternal Colossi of Memnon. Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1391–1353 BC) built them in 1350 BC. They have undergone several renovations throughout history, particularly during the Greco–Roman era.

After your visits, you’ll go to an island for lunch. This also includes a boat ride down the Nile River. Afterward, you will visit:

Karnak Temple Complex

The holy Karnak Temple Complex, also known as the Pr-Imn House of Amun, is a most sacred site. It holds the deepest aspirations and religious recollections of the ancient Egyptians. Builders constructed it on 247 acres of land. It honors the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, built between 2000 BC and 30 AD. The complex also has shrines dedicated to various Osiris, Mut, and Hathor deities.

The Avenue of Sphinxes is the temple’s most captivating architectural feature. It connects the magnificent Luxor Temple, the enormous hypostyle hall, and the temple of Amun, among other parts of the complex. After your tour, you will be taken to a five-star hotel for the night.

Meals: Lunch Flight: Cairo to Luxor Overnight: Luxor Hotel

Day 2: Explore Egypt’s Pyramids

After breakfast, check out of your hotel. You will then board a flight for Cairo. There, your Egyptologist tour guide will meet you to visit several sites.

Giza Pyramids Complex

The legendary Giza Pyramids were built around 2700 BC. The ancient Egyptian aristocracy built them to reach for the skies and claim their place among the gods. These wonders include:

  • The Great Pyramid: Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC – 2584 BC) left behind the Great Pyramid of Giza. It is the last surviving example of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It rises to a height of 147 meters. Workers used 2.3 million limestone pieces, weighing approximately six million tons. The pyramid’s most distinctive feature is its interior. It includes the King’s chamber, the grand hall, the Queen’s chamber, and more yet-to-be-examined chambers.
  • The Great Sphinx: The fabled Sphinx is a cosmic representation of absolute power and wisdom. It displays the features of Pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 BC). It served as a watchman over all the enormous wonders of ancient Egypt. The mythical dream Steele of Thutmose IV, erected in 1401 BC, also sits between its legs.
  • The Valley Temple: The unusual Valley Temple was established around 2600 BC. It performed the religious custom of mummifying the remains of the 4th dynasty’s kings and queens. This ritual helped them find their way to the afterlife.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at a Cairo restaurant. Afterward, you will continue your journey by visiting one of Egypt’s renowned museums.

The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum was the first building of its kind in Egypt. Builders constructed it in the heart of Cairo in 1901 AD. It offers visitors from all over the world the opportunity to examine all the historical riches of ancient Egypt. In the evening, a private air-conditioned car will transport you to Alexandria Port.
