Giza Pyramids Complex For over 4000 years, the Giza Pyramids complex has reflected the heavenly glory of ancient Egyptian civilization. The Giza complex includes the three magnificent main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the majestic Great Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.
The Great Pyramid The Great Pyramid stands as a cosmic monument from a magical realm, the last intact structure of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Builders created the Khufu pyramid in 2580 BC in just 20 years, using 2,300,000 limestone pieces, each weighing 2.5 tons. A workforce of about 100,000 free-skilled workers participated in its construction. It reaches a total height of 147 meters (481 ft), making it the tallest building in history for the past 3800 years.
The Great Sphinx The Great Sphinx, a guardian angel from a magical dimension named “Hor-em-Akhet” (meaning “Horus of the horizon”), is 73 meters (240 ft) tall, 19 meters (66 ft) wide. It takes the shape of a mythical creature, the sphinx, possessing the body of a lion and the head of a man, believed to be King Khafre, highlighting his immense power and wisdom.
The Valley Temple This temple, where time seemed chained, was constructed during the Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC) for the mummification process. The valley remains well-preserved archaeologically, offering priceless information about the mummification process and mortuary rituals of ancient Egypt.
Lunch and Further Exploration
You will enjoy your lunch meal at a Pyramids view restaurant. Afterward, you will continue the rest of your tour to:
Saqqara Step Pyramid The Saqqara Step Pyramid was the heavenly spark that launched ancient Egypt’s golden age of pyramid construction. Legendary vizier Imhotep designed this unique, one-of-a-kind structure for Pharaoh Djoser. It consists of six steps, reaching a height of 62 meters, and sits surrounded by a majestic complex containing enchanting ceremonial structures.
Memphis City Memphis City, where Egypt took its first steps toward the heavens, was the first official capital of ancient Egypt. King Menes founded it in 2925 BC to be the land of art and craftsmen, under the protection of the god Ptah, the patron of creation and artwork. It housed the great temple of Hut-Ka-Ptah, meaning “Enclosure of the Ka of Ptah,” which the Greeks translated to “Ai-Gy-Ptos,” the etymological origin of the name “Egypt.”
Finally, we will transfer you to Cairo airport to catch your flight to Hurghada. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel by a private A/C car.
