Day 1: The Granite City & The Jewel of Isis

Your journey commences in Aswan, the gateway to Africa. Upon arrival, we prioritize the Temple of Philae, which was famously rescued stone-by-stone from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

• Expert Insight: We recommend visiting the Aswan High Dam first to understand the engineering marvel that changed Egypt’s geography, followed by the Unfinished Obelisk to see how the ancients carved their massive monuments directly from the bedrock.

1. Can I visit Abu Simbel on a 3-night cruise?

Yes. However, it requires a very early start (around 4:00 AM) on Day 2. You will travel by car to Abu Simbel and return to the ship in Aswan before it sails toward Kom Ombo at midday.

2. Is the 3-night cruise too rushed?

It is fast-paced. If you prefer a slower morning to enjoy the ship’s pool, consider our 4-night Luxor to Aswan category. But if you want to see all the “Big Five” temples in minimal time, 3 nights is perfect.
