A 6-day Egypt itinerary is a fast-paced adventure. It is designed for travelers who want to see the “Big Three” in one week. These three are Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan. In 2026, 6 days is the most popular choice for a “long weekend” or a quick cultural break.
At Egypt Fun Tours, we use private domestic flights. This is the secret to a successful 6-day trip. We save you 20 hours of driving. This gives you more time at the temples.

A 6-day trip is tight but powerful. It covers the most famous spots in the world.
Your journey starts in Cairo. Our staff will meet you at the airport. We help you with your visa and bags. In the evening, enjoy a Nile Dinner Cruise. You will see traditional belly dancing and “Tannoura” shows. It is a great way to start your trip.
This is the big day. Start early at the Giza Plateau. See the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. Then, go to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). This new museum is right next to the Pyramids. You will see the full treasure of King Tutankhamun.
Take a morning flight to Aswan. This city is the soul of the Nile. Visit the High Dam and the Philae Temple. Philae is on an island. You will reach it by motorboat. In the afternoon, enjoy a quiet sail on a Felucca.
Wake up early for Abu Simbel. These are the massive temples of Ramses II. They were carved into a mountain. After the visit, drive or fly to Luxor. Luxor is the world’s greatest open-air museum.
Explore the West Bank in the morning. Visit the hidden tombs in the Valley of the Kings. See the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. In the afternoon, visit the Karnak Temple Complex. It is so big you could fit ten cathedrals inside it.
Fly back to Cairo for your final day. Visit Old Cairo. See the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Do some last-minute shopping at the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. Then, we transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
Do you want to relax? You can spend 3 days in Cairo and 3 days in Hurghada. This plan swaps the southern temples for the Red Sea. It is perfect for families who want to swim and see history.
Do not take the train on a 6-day trip. The train from Cairo to Luxor takes 10 hours. The flight takes 1 hour. Flying gives you an extra day of sightseeing.
In Cairo, traffic is very heavy. We recommend staying in Giza or near the airport. This saves you 2 hours of driving every day.
You will need some small cash for tips.
Yes. You can do a 3-night cruise from Aswan to Luxor. You will spend 2 days in Cairo and 4 days on the Nile. This is a very popular 6-day option.
It is enough for the main icons. You will not have time for the Alexandria or the White Desert. You would need 8 or 10 days for those.
Bring comfortable walking shoes. The ground at the temples is uneven. Bring a hat and sunblock. Even in winter, the sun is very strong.

Thank you, Egypt Fun Tour, for a most memorable trip. I admit I didn’t do any of the planning (it was all done by my boyfriend), but as you can read in the reviews below, Hani (the owner of Egypt Fun Tours) is superbly organized and accommodating with scheduling. My
I had a really short layover in Cairo and didn’t want to be stuck in the Cairo Airport for several hours. It was like Mission Impossible: Egypt Fun Tours’ mission was to show me around Cairo during my short 5 hour layover which was made even shorter because my plane
I had the opportunity to do a layover tour with Egypt Fun Tours this Friday, and it was amazing. I had a 10-hour layover tour in Cairo, and I was met by Mohamed on time at the airport. He picked me up in a clean, new, safe, and comfortable van.
I had an excellent layover tour with Hani. He is knowledgable, fun, and passionate about his city. I went for a tour of the pyramids, sphinx, and to a papyrus factory which were all great. Ask him any question about Egyptian history and he will surely know the answer! Also

We had the time of our lives on a trip to Egypt and the Bahariya/White Desert with Egypt Fun Tours, too. I would highly recommend this company. They are very familiar with organizing this trip, and this means they are well-connected in the desert area. This was invaluable to us
We had a 12 hour layover in Cairo, 5am to 5pm basically, and thanks to reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to take a tour with Egypt Fun Tours. Now, let me preface this by saying that I am a perfectionist, and a very, very honest one too. Ok, here’s

After a rocky start (the driver had been in an accident on his way to pick me up,) the company very quickly sent another driver/guide named Mohammed, who was a real pro. Thoroughly enjoyed my first day in Egypt!
Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! He even made sure to give us tips while walking through the crowds so that we would feel more comfortable when being approached
I had an 11 hour layover in Cairo. I wrote to them based on recent reviews for them on this site. After a few email exchanges with Hati, who I think is one of the owners, I was ready to get there. I was greeted by Hatem, a very good

I found this company (thanks Trip Advisor!) very last minute and was so happy to read the great reviews. Reaching out to this company was a no-brainer, despite the fact that I’d done so a few hours before my flight to Egypt. Even better was that Hamada responded via WhatsApp
