Day 1: Visit Luxor’s Most Popular Attractions
Your two-day Luxor and Cairo from Aswan trip will begin with breakfast, followed by our representative picking you up from your Aswan hotel and boarding a train to the everlasting city of Luxor, where you will experience some of the top Luxor tourist sites, beginning with:
The Kings’ Valley:
The Valley of the Kings, the burial site of Egypt’s New Kingdom rulers (1570-1070 BC), was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 due to its archaeological importance.
This two-story structure houses approximately 120,000 artifacts, including gold, silver, rare jewels, sculptures, and funeral items, most notably the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
Temple of Hatshepsut: Hatshepsut Temple Deir El-Bahari celebrates the beauty and splendor of Queen Hatshepsut, one of ancient Egypt’s most successful and visionary monarchs. The temple’s architecture, inspired by Classical Architecture from 1479 BC, features some of Egypt’s most stunning decorations and sculptures.
Memnon’s Colossi:
The Colossi of Memnon are two vast stones of quartzite sandstone that rise at a height of 18 meters (60 feet) and weigh 720 tons each, each in the form of Amenhotep III (1386-1350).
A massive earthquake severely destroyed the Colossi in 27 BC, but they were reconstructed in 199 AD.
The Vocal Memnon became renowned throughout the Greco-Roman era as the sculptures occasionally emitted a wailing sound at dawn. This eerie noise, which was nothing more than the wind blowing through the statue, captivated those who encountered it.
After that, you’ll eat lunch before heading to:
Karnak Temple: Karnak Temple is one of the world’s largest open-air museums, making it one of the most fascinating archeological sites in history.
For almost 4000 years, people knew it as Ipet-isu, meaning The Most Selected Of Places, and Pr-Imn, House Of Amon. “It primarily honored the Theban triad: Amun, his wife Mut, the goddess of justice, and their son Khonsu, the moon god.”
You will fly straight to Cairo and spend the night in a five-star hotel.
Day 2: Visit Cairo’s Most Famous Landmarks
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet up with your tour guide to finish your two-day Cairo and Luxor trip from Aswan by seeing ancient Cairo tourist spots such as:
Giza Pyramids Complex: The Giza Pyramids complex is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world and a true reflection of the ancient Egyptian civilization’s greatness. It dates back over 400 years and consists of three main pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the great Egyptian guardian, the glorious sphinx, and the valley temple.
The Great Pyramid of Giza: The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the last surviving edifice of the ancient world’s seven wonders, was built in 2580 BC in 20 years with 2,300,000 chunks of limestone weighing 2.5 tons apiece and a workforce of 100,000 free skilled artisans. The Great Pyramid soars at a height of 147 meters (481 feet), making it the world’s tallest structure for 3800 years. However, owing to its complicated interior compared to its huge size, it remains a mystery.
The Great Sphinx of Giza:
The Big Sphinx stands as a mysterious giant warrior sent from the sky.
The Sphinx is a mythical creature with a lion’s body and a man’s head, symbolizing King Khafre.
This iconic structure symbolizes strength and intelligence. It stands 73 meters tall and 20 meters wide, carved from a single limestone rock by about 100 laborers in under three years.
The Valley Temple:
It was built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (2686-2134 BC) and is one of the best-preserved archaeological monuments and a rich source of knowledge about the mummification process in ancient Egypt. It’s composed of limestone and granite and has amazing diorite sculptures of King Khafre.
Lunch will be served at Pyramids Nile View Restaurant with your Egyptologist tour guide, after which you will visit:
The Egyptian Museum:
The Egyptian Museum contains the world’s largest collection of rare ancient Egyptian artifacts and monuments, highlighting over 4,500 years of history.
It features exhibits that include numerous mummies and other significant artifacts from ancient Egypt.
The two-story structure houses approximately 120,000 items, including gold, silver, rare jewels, wood, and stone. Among these are sculptures, funeral objects, and the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
“Afterward, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight back to Aswan, concluding your two-day vacation in Luxor and Cairo
