Detailed Itinerary of the 12-Day Deluxe Tour of Cairo, Hurghada, Sahara, and Nile Cruise

Day 1: Cairo Airport Arrival & Dinner in Cairo: Your tour representative will be waiting for you at the Cairo airport when you arrive. They will help you complete the relevant paperwork and get your entry visa before driving you in a private A/C vehicle to your hotel so you can check-in. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: A tour of Memphis, Saqqara, and the Pyramids: You will meet your Egyptologist tour guide after breakfast to begin your Egypt trip at one of the Seven Wonders of the World:

Egyptian Pyramids in Giza: Three great pyramids, one for each king of the 4th dynasty around 2400 B.C., make up the Giza Pyramids complex, a sacred site. The Valley Temple, the Grand Sphinx, and six smaller pyramids are all there.

The Great Pyramid: The “Pharaoh Khufu” Tombs are held by the Great Pyramid of Giza quite near to the stars. The Giza Complex’s oldest and largest pyramid is this one. It is the only one of the seven that is still standing and ranks as one of the seven marvels of the ancient world. The limestone stones needed to construct the 147 m-tall Khufu pyramid totaled 2.3 million.

The Great Sphinx: With measurements of 20 meters in height, 73 meters in length, and 19 meters in breadth, the Great Sphinx is one of the largest and oldest man-made figures on earth. It resembles the ancient Greek beast known as the Sphinx in appearance and possesses King Khafre’s facial features and a lion’s physique.

The Valley Temple: The Valley Temple was a mortuary temple used by Egyptian royal families to execute the mummification process on their corpses, a palace of preparation for the journey to a new realm, and it still has a highly distinctive style.

Lunch at a restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Pyramids or the Nile, then go to:

Step Pyramid of Saqqara: The Saqqara Step Pyramid, which dates to the reign of Pharaoh Djoser in the 27th century B.C., is the first pyramid of its sort with its complex in Egyptian history. Imhotep planned it to be made up of six stairs, known as mastabas, stacked on top of one another to reach a height of 62 meters.

City of Memphis: King Menes established Memphis City as the nation’s first unifying capital to serve as the seat of the first dynasty. The deity of creation and artistic creations, Ptah, had his watch and guard in Memphis.

After that, we return you to your hotel for the night.

The Unfinished Obelisk: The Unfinished Obelisk, which weighs 1090 tonnes and measures 42 meters (38 feet) in length, was built for Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC), is the largest in existence. It was intended to stand side by side with the other obelisk discovered at the Karnak complex, which is located in Rome at the Lateran Palace.

Temple of Philae: The goddess Isis of Love, Pleasure, and Beauty is worshipped in the Philae Temple, which was constructed in the sixth century BC. On the walls of the temples, carvings depict the epic mythological tale of Osiris and Isis.

You will check in to a 5-star luxury Nile cruise where you will have lunch, supper, and spend the night.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 6: Visit the Temples of Abu Simbel and sail to Kom Ombo: You will have your breakfast in the morning before setting out on your own with a private tour guide to explore:

Abu Simbel Temples: One of the biggest structures on earth is the pair of temples at Abu Simbel. The Temples are believed to be rock-cut buildings carved out of a mountain’s bedrock. In 1200 B.C., it was built as a tribute to King Ramses II and to establish the well-known sun festival celebration. The larger temple is devoted to the renowned Pharaoh Ramses, while the smaller temple is to his well-known wife Queen Nefertari. The finest works of the ancient Egyptian Civilization have been created here, including artwork, sculptures, and decorations.

Return to your cruise to have lunch and supper, begin sailing, and spend the night.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 7: Visit the Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples and then take a ship to Luxor: After breakfast, go off on a guided tour to see:

Temple of Kom Ombo: The view of the Nile from the Kom Ombo temple is breathtaking. The temple has two entrances, two sanctuaries, and two hypostyle Halls since it is the residence of the sky deity Hours and Sobek, who founded the Nile.

Continue sailing to see:

Temple of Edfu: The fight between Horus, the sky god, and Seth, the wicked deity, in the Edfu temple, determined the destiny of Ancient Egypt. It is the best-preserved Greco-Roman temple that was constructed between 237 and 57 BC.

Lunch and supper are served while sailing to Luxor, where you’ll spend the night after arriving late at night.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Day 8: Visit Luxor Attractions and go to Hurghada: Following breakfast, depart from the Nile cruise. Together with your tour guide, you’ll travel to Luxor to continue your Egypt sightseeing.

Temple of Karnak: The 247-acre Karnak Temple Complex is renowned as the most prestigious location and the residence of the Egyptian gods Amun, Mut, and others. It is the most popular tourist destination in Egypt since it is home to a large number of temples, pylons, chapels, and chambers.

The Kings’ Valley: For 400 years, three Egyptian dynasties—from the 18th to the 20th—rest eternally in the Valley of the Kings. Among the most well-known residents of the valley are Ramses the Great and Tutankhamun. The valley is located in the center of a secret hill covered with tombs containing all sorts of riches.

Temple of Hatshepsut: The Hatshepsut Temple was chiseled out of the mountain’s bedrock to become one of the most beautiful and well-preserved temples ever built. It has three floors that are all covered with magnificent sculptures of her in a masculine form, as well as Amun and Horus statues.

Memnon’s Colossi: Amenhotep III’s two enormous sculptures from the Colossi of Memnon. They were carved from massive pieces of quartzite sandstone that were hauled 700 kilometers from Cairo to Luxor.

Day trip to Wadi el Hitan and Wadi el Rayan

July 9, 2024

We went on a full day trip to Wadi el Hitan and Wadi el Rayan with Mohamed (Hamada). Mohamed was a wonderful guide, always making sure we had plenty of water and enough to eat, and providing us with information about the area and Egypt more generally. He also gave us plenty of time to explore by ourselves. We would highly recommend Egypt Fun Tours and Mohamed.
